Tribe swap! We all knew it was coming eventually, but this certainly came earlier than I expected. When we had to pick the numbers, Courtney said it could be a swap, turns out she was right. I wasn't too pleased about the switch up, cause I felt like I was very well set up on my former tribe. You can never know for sure, but I got that vibe!
My plan to get Vytas out went perfectly, he left unanimously. I had Cochran lined up as the next person to leave, cause he's the only person on the tribe I wasn't aligned with. I had Hope/Jaclyn/Courtney and Hope/Jefra/Bobby/John. He was already shady and suspicious with the push for Vytas to leave, so it was seemingly set in stone.
Now Cochran's on my tribe, which sucks, cause I think he's a prime candidate to flip. My new Malaga tribe is with Brenda, Cochran, Elyse, Jefra, John, Pete and Sandra. I lost Bobby, Courtney and Morgan to Loa Seki. Here it's a 4-4 split, there, the former Loa Seki have a 5-3 majority over the former Malaga. It just goes to show how crucial those early challenge losses were, cause now Loa Seki seemingly have the advantage in this situation.
I definitely wasn't pleased when I saw who was on my tribe. I lost Jaclyn/Courtney, who I felt I had completely on my side. Obviously I didn't want Cochran here, cause I think he feels like an outsider and could flip. I hadn't connected with Brenda, Elyse, Pete or Sandra at all, whereas I did feel on good terms with Alec, Cao Boi and Morgan, of course they didn't end up with me, ugh!
In a way though, Malaga was somewhat of a disaster in challenges, so I don't mind a switch up. It's like a fresh start and a new beginning! Also on the up side, Loa Seki have proven to be a completely dysfunctional tribe. After Shane blew up their two separate majority alliances publicly, I think there's definitely some cracks in there I'm hoping to take advantage of.
Considering I hadn't communicated with them at all beforehand, I think I've built good relationships with Brenda, Elyse, Pete and Sandra since the swap. Brenda said she felt like an outsider on her tribe after Shane blew up the alliances, and almost immediately came to me asking for an alliance, which I agreed to. Pete/Sandra seem very under the radar, Pete said he didn't care for his tribe and nobody talked to him, so I think I could rope him into working with me.
Sandra wasn't included in either of the majority alliances which Morgan listed to me a few days ago, so she seemed at the bottom too. I think Elyse was in a solid position, but she apparently told Morgan that she really likes me, and just now, said she wants the three of us to make it to the merge and do some damage from there. I said that would be perfect, cause nobody would suspect it. Morgan confirmed this alliance with me too.
I don't really know what's going to happen on this tribe if we lose. Ideally I'd get Cochran out, still. I see more potential to work with all the former Loa Seki here, than him, but then I'd have to turn my back on the entire former Malaga. This sucks! It's a 4-4 split on former tribe dynamics, I think there's cracks on their side though and they all wouldn't go to rocks for each other.
I think if anything, I feel our side's more solid. John, Jefra and I were in an alliance with Bobby anyway, so it's not like we felt on the bottom. Even Cochran's somewhat adamant about us sticking together now and has this plan to trick the other side into voting the wrong way and we get one of them out 4-3-1. I wouldn't be opposed to flipping and voting him out to be honest, better that than rocks.
Malaga ended up winning the challenge! I was relieved to finally get a win! Also get to go to Treasure Trove. Yay! The Black X seems pretty useless, getting someone from the other side to sit out of a challenge won't affect much, but The Fog Horn could be a big game changer, if we get to trade up to three members from each tribe.
I'm interested to see how the Loa Seki tribal council will play out. I'm hoping that Bobby, Jaclyn and Courtney will be safe, but I've pretty much accepted that it's a very likely possibility one of them will be leaving. Morgan mentioned that Shane/Alec wanted to boot Coach first, a couple of days back, but she was pushing one of Courtney/Jaclyn to leave.
Morgan asked me to rank my preference of my former tribemates now on Loa Seki, I told her Jaclyn, Courtney, then Bobby. That's probably accurate, but if it somehow gets out that I told her this, I could always just say I was trying to throw her off. I said Jaclyn/Courtney are probably closer to each other than they are with Bobby, which I think is true also.
She's giving me a lot of info about her tribe dynamics anyway, so I feel I have to give her something in return. Shane's apparently going away in a couple of days, so will leave the game anyway. Maybe Loa Seki will simply boot him to avoid losing two members, or maybe they don't care as long as they have the numbers over former Malaga. I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens!
